1 John 5:4 (ESV): “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”If you don’t yet have that faith, know this: God offers it freely through His Son, Jesus Christ. You can respond right now with a a request to God called a prayer of surrender. I’ve written it in everyday language so you can better understand what you are saying aloud through the following two paragraphs:Say this to God
“Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God who died to pay my life debt for breaking Your commandments—both known and unknown. I believe you defeated death by resurrecting from the dead. I believe you ascended from earth to heaven to sit on the right hand of your Father to judge the world as the creator of the world. I confess my sins, specifically the actions I have taken when I broke Your commandments and for any sins that You have attributed to me for any reason whatsoever. Jesus, I ask for Your forgiveness: Please forgive me.“I place my faith in You—which means I believe You lived, died, resurrected, and ascended so I can live forever with You—and I receive the gift of eternal life. Lead me by and baptize me (fill me up) with Your Holy Spirit forever, and help me walk in victory as a child of God, Your Father, for the rest of my life as one who overcomes the world. Jesus, please be my savior of my soul and lord of my life for now and through all of eternity. I pray this in Your precious name, Jesus Christ. Amen.”If You Would Prefer a Simpler Prayer
If you want to pray more simply, just say this to God, ”Lord Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I believe You died to save me from eternal punishment and separation from God, and that You rose again to give me eternal life. I place my faith in You, make me Yours forever, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit to help me build my relationship with You every day even while I still alive here. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for becoming my savior of my soul. Amen.”Contact Us
